CH NEWSLETTER #8 DECEMBER 17, 2021
As part of joining Chelsea House, our private residential community for students, our members receive weekly updates about the community, upcoming events, developments in the student residence, repairs in the apartments, and any other relevant news. We've decided to also post these updates on our website in order to let you, our website visitors looking for student housing in Montreal to get an inside view of the Chelsea House student life!
Dear Chelsea House members,
Here are some updates on the LAST WEEK of exams
⁃ THE ART OF THE POUR / MIXOLOGY CLASS REVIEW 🔥
Earlier today we had our mixology class held in our members lounge given by Lawrence Picard (GQ Magazine top mixologist in Canada, very knowledgeable and interesting teacher!) who gave us a lot of history, tips and showed us how to make 3 great cocktails 🍸 to show the family over the holidays.
Since many of you were already back home for the holidays, he’s given us the recipes which you’ll find at the end of the email !! Try it out & send us pictures :) 🙏
⁃ SCHOOLS OUT I WANNA PARTY 🎉
Some of you asked us to help with getting into NEWHAUS bar located near Chelsea House on Crescent which needs a password to get into. This weekends password is “BACK” - the owner recommends arriving before 11pm as it fills up quick.
⁃ HOME ALONE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
It seems practically all of you are going home. But if you're sticking around in your favorite student housing building - HIT US UP !! We want to make sure to form an activity for those still with us next week :)
TONIGHT - FRENCH TOUCH XMAS MIXER
Our now seasoned party planners Heloise 🇫🇷 and Pauline 🇫🇷 are putting together an end of semester party tonight in the members lounge. Their last event was apparently a blast and didn’t cause any disturbance with the other studying members 🤩
You’ll be happy to know that we will have security present again tonight to ensure the party ends at 3 & doesn’t overflow into the building 💪🏽
DELIVERY MAIL & PIZZA GUYS
As of next Monday we’re getting our Intercom installed ! This means that you will now be able to be rung upon by your favorite UberEATS / Dominos guy to let you know your X-Large all dressed pizza is downstairs.
You won’t however have the ability to unlock the front door. This is a main security component of our student residence as we don’t want random people walking in or getting buzzed in. The calories walking down to the front door will make you deserve that stuffed crust though 🍕
Other cool developments:
⁃ EXPEDIBOX is getting installed next week ! It’s our smart mailbox system 📫
⁃ The back entrance will have a card reader installed next week to be able to enter there during daytime (will be deactivated from 8pm to 8am)
⁃ Because the city is being extremely slow giving the permit on our infamous 60k custom built castle doors 🤯, we’re adding privacy film on all our entrance doors this week. Extra privacy with people unable to look inside 🤫
MEMBER YEARBOOK PROJECT
We want to put together a Chelsea House yearbook with pictures from our first year together ! Seeing as you’re all super active on social media, if you’ve got any cool pics you’d like to be featured in the Yearbook please share them with us !!
Also, we’ll need your help with putting the Yearbook together. If interested, let us know !
This can also be put together as relevant experience on your CV (editing, creative work, writing, etc).
Huge congrats to YOUSSEF 🇲🇦 on landing his part-time job at David’s Tea !!
Ok thats it for now !!
HIT US UP FOR ANY QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, RECOMMENDATIONS (we ❤️ Montreal) !!!
Cheers CHELSEA FAM 🙏
HAPPY HOLIDAYS & send us pictures of our gifted maple syrup in action !!
